What to Expect
at therapy
If you've never been to therapy, you may be unsure of what to expect. Or maybe you've had some negative experiences with therapy. If you're the type of person who likes to know what you're getting into (we are too), read below. If you still have questions, let us know!

Give us a call
We'll get some basic demographic info and get a quick idea of what challenges there are right now. We'll get insurance info so we can verify your coverage. Then, we'll set up our first appointment.

Your first appointment
Parents/guardians will need to come to the first session (under 18). There will be some forms to fill out but mostly we want to get to know you. We're still strangers to you so you get to decide how much you open up.

Goals
Goals are super important in therapy. We only want to work on what's important to you. We will help set your goals which will help determine how long you need to be in therapy and what interventions we will use. Each time you come in, we will track how you're progressing.

Your sessions
Settle in! Get cozy. Have some tea or a hot cocoa. We'll want to spend some time with your parents, too. Sometimes we'll spend time teaching you skills and sometimes we'll just listen. No matter what, we won't judge and you're never in trouble at therapy.
